Become a part of the “Volunteer to Help IV” project!
We provide the opportunity to volunteer under European Solidarity Corps, allowing you to choose from a variety of activities to create a unique, enjoyable, and meaningful experience. As a volunteer, you’ll have the opportunity to get involved in diverse areas such as working in schools, organizing sports events, participating in public events, engaging in journalistic activities, providing social support, and assisting individuals with disabilities and special needs etc.

Goals of the Project: ESC Opportunities Framework, During “Volunteer to Help IV” project we will focus on addressing two key challenges:
– Addressing Social Issues: Improving or solving the social problems faced by youth in our community.
– Volunteering for Change: Promoting both local and international volunteering as powerful tools for social change and inclusion.
– Fostering Solidarity: Promoting active citizenship and the concept of solidarity among youth in the EU and other countries.

Main activities:
– Giving classes to children and teenagers (ages 5 to 17), focusing on promoting non-formal learning methods while fostering social inclusion and encouraging acceptance of others.
– Organizing workshops and events for children and teenagers on diverse topics, such as movie nights, book discussions at the library, non-formal English learning activities, quizzes, and presentations about your country to citizens of Craiova / Balş.
– Organizing awareness campaigns in the city to promote the values of the European Solidarity Corps (ESC) and the European Union, including activities like designing brochures and coordinating flash mobs.
– Democracy and EU related activities, by working alongside our local partners for a more open and proper educated EU citizens.

Ideal Candidate Profile:
– Being Open Minded Working in a multicultural environment, away from home and while working on inclusivity needs ONLY open mindedness and flexibility.
– Age: 18–30 years old.
– Eligibility: Must not have completed a long-term EVS or ESC.
– Language Skills: Medium-level English (speaking and writing) required Additional widely-used international languages are a plus for some activities.

– Motivation & Commitment:
* Highly motivated to participate and actively engaged in the selection process.
* Willing to take on project tasks and responsibilities, remaining involved even after the project’s completion.
– Experience: Previous volunteering/work experience locally or internationally is a plus, particularly relevant to project activities.

* Priority Groups:
– Young people with fewer opportunities (e.g., unemployed, not in school, financial constraints, cultural/religious/gender challenges).
– Tailored support plans will be provided for these candidates.

* Being Involved; We hold our volunteers to high standards, as you will serve as role models for the youth in our community, demonstrating civic responsibility and the value of social engagement through volunteering.

*Other aspects:
-Accommodation:
Volunteers will be accommodated in basic apartments, featuring shared bathrooms and kitchens. The apartments are mixed-gender, but rooms are assigned based on gender.

NOTE: We cannot accommodate volunteers who prioritize high living standards, as this may not align with the nature of the opportunity.
– Local transportation: will be provided by the host.
– Financial Support:
You will receive a Monthly food allowance: 150 euro/month and a monthly Pocket money: 120 euro/month.
-Travel:
Volunteers traveling to Craiova for the project will receive travel support based on the distance calculated using the travel band distance calculator.
