*Profile of the volunteer:
– aged between 18 and 30
– flexible, open-minded, tolerant, communicative
– creative
– reliable
– willing to work in teams or individually with initiative and creativity
– want to help young people
– ready to fight against exclusion, prejudices and stereotypes
– at least having beginner level of English knowledge
“Solidarity volunteers for the city” is a project that will include a 45-days activity for 3 teams of 40 volunteers in total (27 international and 13 locals) in the city of Resita. The aim of the project is to promote volunteering as a method of developing tolerance and understanding between Roma and non-Roma communities from Resita.
Activities:
– Campaign to promote volunteering and tolerance through artistic forms, informational and educational activities;
– Greening activity attended by volunteers from the other two activities
– Beautification and development of the playgrounds in the city;
– Decorating and painting kindergartens and playgrounds in the city;
-Language cafe
– Information and education activities for locals and creation materials for this activity
– Cultural activities

-Accommodation:
We provide accommodation in a high school dormitory in the city, with 2-3 people/ room.
-Financial Support:
Pocket money | 3€/day
Food allowance | 5€/day
-Travel:
275 Euro provided for international travel (round trip).
Local transport in the city is provided by the hosting NGO.
