Heba from Jordan, our volunteer in Romania

I’m Heba from Jordan. I studied civil engineering and I’m volunteer in ANDCTR.
I started my volunteering Journey in July and I chose to be a volunteer because it’s one of the richest experiences that person can ever live and learn from, to leave my country and my comfort zone to another different country with totally different language and culture, it wasn’t easy at all but the kind Romanian people who almost all the time try to help made it easier.

In this project I worked in several youth exchange and met more than hundred people from different countries, making friendships was the most enjoyable thing for me, to engage with their cultures, problems, hobbies and talents, everyday I learned something new.

Facilitating sessions in the form of non-formal education was totally new thing for me and improved my leadership skills and speaking in public abilities. then I moved to the stage of schools, and I think that the hardest thing is to make teenagers engage in the activities and how much happiness they give to me when they do a task or feel their improvement however it was funnier with kids who were always energetic and made me having fun.

I think this is one of the experiences that affected my life and actions, while time is running out I think there will be always a part of me staying here in Craiova.
