Our ESC Volunteer Eysam in Romania
My name is Eysam Komis and I’m 26 years old. I studied Energy Engineering at the German Jordanian University in Jordan and Since the 1st of November I start my 6 months of Volunteering for the European solidarity corps in Arad Romania. My responsibilities during this period are to help the organizations I’m assigned to in creating activities and helping them with non-formal education and to improve the quality of life for less fortunate children.
My first week in Romania was full of new experiences and events. I got to experience the beauty of Romania and especially Arad, the country is breath taking and some of the scenery and the variety of Autumn colors will forever be engraved in my mind.
During my first week here I got the chance to meet a lot of new people and to get my first interactions with the kids. Their smiles brightens up your day and their laughter brings joy to your soul. Playing with them is a lot of fun especially knowing how competitive they are. The time I spent here so far was already enough to change my look at life a bit and I’m certain the change will only continue for the best.
